He took the pulse of the economy and markets! "Business World in Türkiye" magazine is 5 years old

In Turkey, Business World magazine celebrated its 5th anniversary with a launch event held at Çırağan Palace. The event, which brought together prominent figures from the business world, was attended by many figures from the business, economics, and media worlds, including İhlas Media Group Chair Aslıhan Ören, Istanbul Deputy Governor Yücel Gemici, Alarko Holding Board Member Leyla Alaton, Orka Holding Chairman Süleyman Orakçıoğlu, Kazakhstan Istanbul Consul General Nuriddin Amankul, Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İTHİB) Chairman Ahmet Öksüz, Istanbul Chamber of Industry Board Member Sultan Tepe, İhlas Gazetecilik A.Ş. Chairman İsmail Kapan, and TGRT News Editor-in-Chief Ercan Seki.

Celal Toprak, Editor-in-Chief of Türkiye'de İş Dünyası Magazine, delivered the opening remarks at the launch event, saying, "When we first started this business, we tried to make our magazine a publication that was a driving force in the business world and followed the economy. Now that we're in our fifth year, I think we've succeeded in that."

While providing information about the magazine's mission, Toprak stated that they prioritize sustainability and strive to bring developments regarding the green economy and the climate crisis to readers. He said, "We launch after every issue. We've now taken our magazine international. We've also held meetings in Kazakhstan, Germany, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. We'll have more surprises coming soon. Sectors are precious to us. We attach great importance to providing information about the development and progress of these sectors. I'd also like to announce a surprise project here. Together with our dear Ahmet Öksüz, we will be presenting diplomas to Sultanhamam graduates."

"THE MOST IMPORTANT PILLAR OF DEMOCRACY IS THE PRESS"

Speaking at the 5th anniversary launch of Türkiye İş Dünyası (Business World) magazine, economist Prof. Dr. Esfender Korkmaz emphasized that the press is not merely a channel for conveying information, but a force that directly contributes to the functioning of democracy. Congratulating Aslıhan Ören and Celal Toprak, Korkmaz said, “I don't see them as bosses and employees, but as people walking together. Turkey needs a serious, impartial, and objective press like this publication.”

"A YOUNG, BRAVE AND INNOVATIVE MAGAZINE"

Leyla Alaton, a member of the Board of Directors of Alarko Holding, shared her views on the fifth anniversary of the Business World magazine in Türkiye:

"It's a young, bold, and innovative magazine. It gives a lot of space to women. And most importantly, it organizes many seminars and meetings outside of Istanbul. I attach great importance to this magazine because it gives a special place to women's entrepreneurship. I've been introduced to many new sectors and businesspeople through this magazine. I've always read about what they do and their vision in this magazine. That's why I'm indispensable."

"WE DEVELOP WITH EXPORTS"

Ahmet Öksüz, Chairman of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters' Association (İTHİB), stated at the meeting that the textile sector's capacity had decreased and that 2024 figures had been reached in 2025. He added, "It was a year where costs were particularly challenging for us. As you know, inflation, which is running higher than the increase in foreign exchange rates, has pushed up our labor costs. It doesn't look like 2026 will be an easy year again."

Öksüz stated that the national income has quickly surpassed $15,000, and the target is $20,000, meaning that both revenues and employee costs will increase, and that the sector will face difficulties.

IT WILL BE A HARD YEAR, BUT 2026 HAS HOPE

Sultan Tepe, a member of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) Board of Directors, attended the 5th anniversary celebration of Business World magazine in Turkey and stated that 2025 was a difficult year economically, and that they spent the year planning how to prepare for 2026. Tepe said , “I think the most challenging part will be 2026. When we spoke with all industrialists about 2026, everyone has minimized their expenses. I hope it turns out better than we feared.”

Redcolour Paint Insulation Chemistry Inc. Chairman of the Board Oya Sertdemir Düşmez also stated that 2025 was a difficult year for the retail industry, saying, "Interest rates were very high. Money was deposited in banks. We went through a major earthquake. Now, interest rates are falling, and hopes are rising. I'm even more hopeful for 2026."

A GROUP THAT DIVIDS FROM THE SECTOR

Orka Holding Chairman Süleyman Orakçıoğlu stated that Trump had left his mark on 2025 and that the situation had calmed down. He said , “We are a group that stands out from the industry. Currently, one of our teams is in France, the other in Poland. We opened a store in Romania last week. Our store in Paraguay, South America, will open at the end of the month. We continue to fly the flag of our brands around the world.”
